Music has always surrounded Howard and given his life meaning.

Growing up in a small Midwestern town, Howard was shaped by parents who understood the
value of hard work, perseverance, and unconditional love. His father worked 12–14 hours a day
for 48 years, instilling in Howard the grit, determination, and work ethic that would later define
his own journey. His mother raised him in the church, singing in the choir and playing pipe
organ, while never wavering in her support of her son—even during the years when Howard
could often be found in dive bars, honing his craft and pursuing his love of performing.

His older brother, twelve years his senior, played drums and became his early inspiration.
Watching him behind the drum kit sparked something in Howard. He began learning the drums
and singing from the drum throne, inspired by artists like Don Henley of the Eagles and Phil
Collins, who had also made the drums a central part of their musical identity.

“Seeing them play from behind the drums inspired me to find bands who would let me do that,”
Howard says.

He went on to perform with bands including Stinger, Cut Loose, Half A Notion, and Power
Source, pouring his soul into every opportunity. He may not have known exactly where the
music would take him, but he knew how to work for it. The example: his father—who spent
decades working tirelessly—had taught him never to quit.

But life doesn't always follow the path we imagine.

After years of pursuing music without finding the success he had hoped for, Howard became a
father of three, took steady jobs in IT, and found himself in a marriage that was falling apart. By
the age of 46, he was nearly at the end of his rope.

Depression, divorce, and a suicide attempt brought him to a place he never expected to be as he
found himself sitting in the parking lot of a small church in the middle of nowhere. In that
moment, something began to change. He started to recognize what had been missing from his
life and what truly mattered to his journey. And through the faith that his praying mother had
never stopped believing in, Howard began finding answers to questions he had carried for years.

Now, it is about purpose.

Blending acoustic rock, heartland rock & roll, and honest storytelling, Howard returned to
songwriting with a vengeance. A lifetime spent searching for clues and trying to understand what
makes this world tick had prepared him for something new. His midwestern roots had given him
the foundation: work hard, tell the truth, keep going, and never lose sight of what matters.

For Howard, this isn't a job. It's a calling—and he loves what he does.

His story challenges us to examine our own journeys, to pursue them without fear or hesitation,
and to understand that it is never too late to begin again. Through his music and his faith,
Howard shares what he has discovered along the way, creating songs that speak honestly about
the struggles, vices, pain, victories, disappointments, and, yes, even the moments of hope that
connect us all.
